Fire and Security Engineer (Multiple roles available)

Location: Field based - Roles available in the following regions - Northern England & Midlands Region

Rate of pay: £32,000  £37,000 plus overtime and door to door travel

Company vehicle (with personal use), phone, tablet, company pension & engineer-specific benefits

We are recruiting for a Fire and Security engineer to join our team.

The role will be field based on a regional basis, so the successful candidate will need to be willing to undertake frequent travel within this region and some working away for which expenses and accommodation will be paid. Our Head Office is in Nottingham, so occasional attendance will be required. This is an exciting and varied role for a well-established, dynamic and vibrant company, that will be made up of a mixture of servicing, remedial and installation work. Any required training will be provided for the right person.

 

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths as a minimum     

  • A positive attitude and commitment to excellence

  • Previous experience within the industry – minimum 2 years

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of fire/security systems and manufacturers

  • Full driving license

  • Willingness to travel throughout the specified region with occasional time away from home

 

It would be an advantage to have the following:

  • Knowledge and experience of emergency lighting & extinguisher maintenance

  • FIA Foundation Module in Fire Detection and/or Portable Fire Extinguishers

  • IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness and Working at Height certifications

 

Key job responsibilities:

  • Servicing and maintaining various fire detection systems, emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers

  • Servicing and maintaining various intruder, CCTV and access control systems.

  • Working on large and small installation projects across all fire and security disciplines

  • Understanding the requirements of the customer, communicating clearly and reacting efficiently.

  • Providing customers with training and demonstrations on systems and educating on the causes and implications of false alarms.

  • Taking responsibility for health and safety and adhering to relevant British Standards

  • Working proactively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.

  • Maintaining Tay Fire and Security’s commitment to excellence in customer service and workmanship and translating this into your role.

  • Providing on call telephone support and attendance of out of hours call outs as per the company standby schedule.

Sales & Business Development Manager

Location: Nottingham office (Bingham, NG13)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

Rate of pay: £45,000 - £50,000 OTE (and dependant upon experience)

Reporting directly into the Operations Director, this is a varied role which is fundamental to the future growth and evolution of the business. Working for a rapidly growing, vibrant and dynamic Fire and Security company, based in Nottinghamshire with field engineers working throughout the UK.

The Sales & Business Development Manager will have a focus on company growth by looking for opportunities and expanding reach, along with assisting to create and implement new strategies to generate revenue.

 

Key Role responsibilities:

  • Creating, implementing, and supervising the company’s business development strategy

  • Conducting market research to identify future business opportunities

  • Proposing changes to product and service offerings to improve the customer experience

  • Contacting businesses to initiate strategic partnerships

  • Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients

  • Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competition in the industry and positioning

  • Working alongside the Finance Team and Operations Director to set Sales Targets and Quotas

  • Creating proposals and quotations for prospective and existing clients

  • Identifying new tender opportunities and working collaboratively with other departments in submissions

  • Attending events to nurture relationships with industry decision-makers

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients

  • Working with Operations Director to optimise processes to increase business revenue

  • Identify and follow up on new Sales Leads

  • Track Sales Progress and prepare Management Reports

  • Collaborate with marketing, finance, and accounting departments to meet business targets

  • Working alongside Operations Director to align Online and Social Media presence with Sales and BD Strategy

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Proven recent experience in a Sales or Business Development role

  • Min 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the Fire and Security or Construction Industry

  • Highly Experienced and proficient with recent versions of MS Office Software (Excel, Word and Adobe PDF essential)

  • Knowledge of the latest trends and software for data analysis, research, prospecting and CRM

  • Excellent prioritisation, organisational and time-management skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Problem-solving attitude with an eye for detail and ability to navigate complex sales situations

  • Ability to work without supervision and with minimal guidance

Regional Operations Coordinator

Location: Nottingham office (Bingham, NG13)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

Rate of pay: £12.50 - £13.75 per hour (dependant upon experience)

This is an exciting and varied role, working for a vibrant and dynamic Fire and Security company which is based in Nottinghamshire with engineers working throughout the UK.
 

Working within the Operations team and reporting into the Operations Director the Regional Operations Coordinator will work to assist in organising the company’s day to day operations and maintain a positive and friendly company image by acting as the first line of contact to visitors, customers, and vendors in person, online, and via telephone. The role will also provide clerical support to our directors and employees and coordinate all daily administrative tasks.

 

Key Role responsibilities:

  • Build and manage relationships with core customers within allocated region

  • Maintain internal databases

  • Process Engineer paperwork and issue to clients

  • Assist with planning of engineer work schedules and booking appointments with customers

  • Ensure KPIs are met and adhered to

  • Ordering parts and managing stock levels

  • Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements

  • Raising Purchase Orders

  • Maintain a filing system for data on customers and external partners

  • Manages correspondence by answering emails and sorting mail

  • Organise, store and print company documents as needed

  • Answer and redirect phone calls

  • Make travel arrangements and hotel bookings for engineers

  • Handle queries from managers and employees

  • Update office policies and ensure compliance with them

  • Prepare reports and presentations on occasion

  • Understanding the requirements of the customer, communicating clearly, and reacting efficiently.

  • Working proactively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Proven recent experience as an Administrator, Administrative Assistant, or relevant role

  • Familiarity with office equipment, including printers, scanners etc

Apprenticeship - Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician (level 3)

Location: Field-based,  Block Release sessions located in Derby

Qualification Level: Level 3 

Duration: 36 Months

Hours: 40 Hours per week

Rate of pay: £7.55ph

We are recruiting for an Apprentice Fire and Security engineer to join our team.​

The site-based learning element of the role will be field-based throughout the UK with education based training completed via a Block release arrangement at a training centre located in Derby. Due to the National nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be willing to undertake occasional travel and some working away for which expenses and accommodation will be paid. Our Head Office is in Nottingham, so occasional attendance here will be required.

 

This is an exciting and varied role for a unique and vibrant company who place a commitment to their engineer's ongoing training and well-being. The role will be made up of a mixture of servicing, remedial and installation work across Fire, Security, Emergency Lighting and Extinguisher maintenance. 

 

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • GCSE Level 4 or above in English and Maths as a minimum     

  • A positive attitude and commitment to excellence

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Commitment to gaining a full driving licence (if not already possessed)

  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK with some periods of time away from home

 

It would be an advantage to have the following:

  • A keen interest or prior knowledge of fire and security systems

 

Key job responsibilities:

Working alongside a senior engineer within our team, your site based training will involve:

  • Servicing and maintaining various fire detection systems, emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers

We are recruiting for an Apprentice Administrator to join our Operations team.​

The site-based learning element of the role will be from our Nottingham Office in Bingham, NG13 8GG with education based training completed via either a day release arrangement at a training centre located in Nottingham or within our Nottingham office.

 

This is an exciting and varied role for a unique and vibrant company who place a commitment to their staff's ongoing training and well-being. The role will primarily be to support the Operations Team in engineering planning, but experience within the Finance and Compliance Team will also be provided.

 

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • GCSE Level 4 or above in English and Maths as a minimum     

  • A positive attitude and commitment to excellence

  • Excellent communication skills

 

It would be an advantage to have the following:

  • Basic IT Skills

 

Key job responsibilities:

Working alongside a senior engineer within our team, your site based training will involve:
